Welcome to "The Gods Are Bored!" Yes, as a commenter noted -- we are the Sam's Club of deities! No pantheon too great, no pantheon too small. Is there a Goddess living in your backyard, watching out for you and only you? What luck! You should be happy.
I can't link to save my life, but if you go to http://www.wildhunt.org, Jason's site, you can click on the footage and commentary about Sarah Palin's personal protection from witchcraft.
Pagans, are we going to allow a woman to become vice president who may actively persecute us -- who most certainly will revile and belittle us to her many, many religious followers?
I'm not suggesting that Mrs. Palin would erect stakes on the White House lawn and have us lashed to them and burnt. But rest assured that she will undermine religious freedom, personal choice, and non-Biblical lifestyles in every way she can.
And there are plenty of ways she can do it. For instance? Enforcement of laws against religious practices in public parks. Might cancel a few Christian weddings, but it would certainly squelch many a Pagan practice.
It is time to galvanize our spirits, to band together, and to call upon all of our deities to work against the election of a known witch-hater.
I am going to tag every Pagan blogger in my sidebar and hope that this begins a ripple of Pagan work against the election of John McCain and Sarah Palin. Please, if you get tagged, express your opinion of this ticket and then tag all the other Pagan bloggers you know.
Sarah Palin believes in witches. Do we? If so, let's show her, by nonviolent solidarity -- wishing no ill upon her or her family -- that we don't want her to be in a position of power.
I make this petition in the name of the Celtic Goddesses, most especially my Patroness, Queen Brighid the Bright.

Oh this lady is the kind that will scream bloody murder to bring her religion into goverment. We have to let people know that it is truly important to vote this year.
Religious freedom is a right for every individual, and you're so right to raise this. You're equally right to raise the issue of protecting the rights of those who are deemed to live 'non-biblical lifestyles.' As a witch and a gay man I support your comments here 100%
You know, Anne, this isn't a bad idea for Christians like me to spread around as well, if we believe in the idea of freedom of religion.
Kudos to Mountainlaurel!
can i pray to the goddess to smite her?
No smiting. It's not nice. However, you can ask the Goddess to make Sarah be Sarah the rest of her life.
No smitting? Ahhhhh, c'mon, I wanna smite, darn it all! She smit us first! I saw her!
I don't suppose we can shoot her dogs or cats from helicopters either, huh? Sheeesh.....being pagan ain't no fun.......
Hey, there Mountainlaurel,! If you happen to be a Methodist, Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Episcopalian, or a member of any of the Orthodox Churches, according to the Assemblies of God, you're not really a Christian. You see, those (and others, too, those are just off the top of my head) are really CHURCHES IN BONDAGE!!! (tm)
Yep, that;s right. See, Satan has his own churches, and they're out there to fool folks into thinking that they're Christians because they belong to one of those. But really, they're not, they're serving Satan, because those aren't REAL Churches like the Assemblies of God, because they don't take the Bible literally (or, not when the AoG says they should, because, in point of fact, AoG doesn't always take the Bible literally, either, they just like to say they do. When it's convenient.) the way the Assemblies of God does (see above parenthetical comment).
Oh, and no, I'm not making up that CHURCHES IN BONDAGE stuff, they really do teach that.
OK - here's mine: http://nettle.wordpress.com/2008/09/25/in-which-i-use-profanity-talk-about-politics-and-laugh-bitterly/
No smiting, but a whole lot of abject fear.
CHURCHES IN BONDAGE is one of the many things about this whole election that would be hilarious were it not so terrifying.
*shudders* I'll avoid the smiting, because violence only begets violence...we need temperence and education to show the country these types of things. (I was practicing lutheren ministry in my youth, and know myself that the Assembly of God doesn't like our kind either.)
I’m still scared, not worried, but deeply and unspeakable-scared since I saw that Palin church video. Even if it wasn’t about witches, or pagans, or jews, or islamic fundamentalists, or even Lutheren Ministers…
The thought of anyone being SO convicted, vindictive, and Zealous about ANY group “opposed” to their beliefs is NOT the type of person that should be ruling the country.
Disagreeing with them is one thing, I personally don't count myself among her type of Christian, but there's no way in hell (pun intended) I'd denounce her beliefs with such vitriol!
Didn't the Catholics say that the greatest sin of all was to refuse to believe in witchcraft?
I've been blogging about Scary Sarah.
And I'm not above a bit of creative smiting.
I cannot in good conscience vote for McCain/Palin OR Obama/Biden; both tickets will simply perpetuate our nation's empire and push us further down the road to ruin. But I do have a definite preference for the evil Obama over the evil McCain.
Thank goodness I don't live in a battleground state...
My post is up. I also submitted "Tag for Your Life" to MetaPagan, which should help get the call out.
And here's mine, at my brandy-new blog Amused Grace since Evn went and got me involved with his post. I'll have to go over to MetaPagan now and figure out how to add mine. Hmmm.
I woke up this morning intending to write a spell in answer to your tag. Instead, I started to write a series. There is just so much material. Anyway, here is Changing the World Part One: RenGen Witches Unite.
