Important Public Health Announcement for the Citizens of Johnsonia

Hear the words of the Grand Wazoo of Johnsonia, Anne Johnson:

Effective immediately, the borders of the Independent Republic of Johnsonia are closed. No one will be allowed to leave Johnsonia or return to it except for essential travel.

No non-citizens will be allowed to visit or stay in Johnsonia. This includes outdoor gatherings and holidays.

Essential travel is defined as work-related or food-gathering-related or of medical necessity.

The Wazoo would like to take this opportunity to SCOLD the United States of America for IGNORING and SCORNING the advice of SCIENTISTS who WARNED THIS WOULD HAPPEN. May this plague fall upon the shoulders of the U.S. citizens who most resisted considering it important, while passing over good people who heeded the advice of health professionals!

Wazoo probably gonna be working from home beginning next week. Just a hunch.

Yes, if only it were just the scofflaws and anti-maskers who will be struck down by Covid! Alas, karma doesn't work that way, it seems.

You can't fix stupid. There are people suffering from the Trump Virus in the hospital that refuse to admit they have Covid - because it doesn't exist!

Pox on all the people who don't wear a mask.

Too many will gather for Thanksgiving and be dead by Christmas. Unfortunately, the virus isn't selective and those cavalier fools will spread it far and wide.

What if one needs Wi-Fi or access to the computers at the public library to get on the internet?
Any thoughts on the continued isolation of individuals without all those extra amenities most upper-middle-class types have? How do WE handle lockdowns and quarantines?

Now, mask mandates aren't that big a deal. Citizens wore them in Southeastern Asian countries during the bird flu epidemic in the early 2000s, and it was also the norm in many Chinese cities during periods of "air quality alert" due to excessive vehicle exhaust and industrial pollution.
It's essentially the same as a mandate that one "must wear shoes whenever venturing outside to prevent potential injury due to sharp stones and broken glass fragments"---as opposed to just wearing flip-flops or sandals. Just another garment, in addition to pants, shirts, coats and hats that they mandate wearing by "martial law" decree.
