The Heir Makes a Special Delivery

Hello and welcome to "The Gods Are Bored," fearfully dodging World War III since 2016! I'm the hostess with the most-est, Anne Johnson. Ask me anything! I won't know the answer, but I'll nod thoughtfully.

Some of you who blog-hop will be tickled by what I am about to say.

As I write this, my daughter The Heir is having dinner in West (by Goddess) Texas with the fabulous Yellowdog Granny! I hope they love each other as much as I love both of them.

Yellowdog Granny and I go all the way back to the dawn of this blog. We found each other early and often. Two hearts that beat as one, you might say. If you have never visited her blog, you'll see why we mesh so well if you click on the link.

Of course, I have known my daughter The Heir even longer. She has flown from Philadelphia to Waco to help create a giant Snickers bar at a Mars candy factory there. Yes, you read that right. If you're willing to live in a drafty room and trash pick all your stuff, you get cool jobs like making giant candy sculptures. And puppets for Disney.

EXHIBIT A: HEIR HELPED MAKE THESE. IT WAS HARD.

So on my behalf, Heir is having supper with Yellowdog Granny, and delivering to her some Philadelphia Tastykakes. Oh to be a fly on the wall!

Heir says it's not so hard to get to West, Texas. I'm listening.

The last time I went to Texas I felt very out of place there. The Heir should be happier since a friend awaits her arrival.

Love,
Janie

I don't know about the Heir...but the yellowdog had a fabulous time..except for the driving ..took her to pizza house and we split a skunk egg, which she really did enjoy..of course it could have been she was hungry as it was a late dinner..then she had a Czech pizza..which is kraut and sausage on pizza..only in West..it was dark time when I was driving her around West so she didn't get the full effect..but she saw all the rebuilding that we have done..and showed her our memorial for the people that died in the explosion..we talked for hours..she is every thing I expected your daughter to be..sweet kind funny smart and just lovely..and tasty cakes might be the end of me.they are fantastic..It's 1:30 a.m. here..I just remembered about an hour ago that I was going to call you..I napped after Olivia left and made a meat loaf..just forgot..call me tomorrow afternoon..or evening..I don't know how we are going to do it..but we have to meet..talking to you on the phone was terrific..but I wanna hug you..love you my friend..

Oh, I hope JackieSue got some butterscotch crumpets. Every time I go home, I have to have Tastykake butterscotch crumpets, all those prepared-food chemicals be damned.

Seems like it was a fun night, and I'm glad that the true taste of Philadelphia travels well to Texas.

O my god, those penguins are adorable. But having "making giant Snickers bar" be your job? Dang! What were the other two wishes?
