This is a test to see if my school district is still blocking Blogger as a social media site.

How do you tell if they are? I can see and respond to this, no problem.

Hey Anne - you know how you said a couple of posts ago that you wanted to learn more about computers and modern tech tricks and like? I'll teach you one for getting around school servers and the like. This is the trick I used when I was in high school and going about my general rebellious anti-district-anti-restriction-you-can't-stop-me-from-accessing-youtube (to be fair, I was actually mostly using these things for educational purposes). Anyway - back to the point:
If your school server is blocking certain sites that you want to access, the easiest way to defeat it is to use a proxy server - basically connect your computer to the internet from a different source. The simplest way to do this is to download something called "Ultrasurf" - google it and it should be fairly easy to find. It's a small download, can easily fit on a flashdrive (the best way to access it in my opinion). Once you download it onto your flashdrive (at home - your school server probably won't allow you to download it there), you can stick that flashdrive into your school computer, open it up, and then open up the ultrasurf file. This will connect your computer to the internet through a proxy, thereby allowing you to access blocked sites.
Hopefully that made sense! My sincere apologies if it did not.

Reading it at my end (? nah, over here in Australia).

Yes, I've heard of ultrasurf! I'm going to try it. In the meantime, looks like the new browser here at school is letting me into my little domain. (Happy Dance)
