When you're back, I'd love to hear your take on the Santeria animal sacrifice hoop-la that has been a daily fixture of the Phillie papers; I haven't read all of the articles to the end, but the portions I have read do not do such a great job of differentiating the 99.9% of pagans from the people who are into cruelty to animals.
(Actually, the emaciated dogs did not make sense, from a sacrificial point of view, as starving a dog and then killing it does not seem to be much of a sacrifice; I thought the point of any sacrifice is to give to the gods the _best_ that one has to offer.)
The pagan side needs to be heard, and you are a _great_ choice for delivering it!
I'll get the chicken ready for sacrifice.
ReplyDeleteGet better soon, you're the moment of sanity in my days.

ReplyDeleteGarlic. As much raw, chopped garlic as you can stand. Puree it w olive oil and lemon juice and spread it on everything.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon. Lots of garlic and orange juice. Maybe not together though. :)

Ditto on all the above. If all else fails, try Decible soup instead of Chicken.
