Your word-wrangling is wry, intriguing and accomplished. Brava, dear heart!

Cutting right to the chase, I should like very much to link to your little curiosity shoppe for two reasons: a) so that I can find my way back and b) so that I can direct my own small battalion of followers (trolls and all, unfortunately) to visit and marvel for themselves.

Your gods may even find my gang momentarily amusing (no promises, though).

BTW, I myself am a New Hoper so I appreciate where you're coming from (mummers and all). As to the Jersey progeny, buck up m'dear, things could be worse.

Best regards,
FrumpzillaFrumpzillahttp://www.frumpgazette.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12171673.post-75762478344487106782009-12-31T13:31:03.621-05:002009-12-31T13:31:03.621-05:00The first one reminds me a bit of Mardi Gras, alth...The first one reminds me a bit of Mardi Gras, although not quite as artfully done as some of those. I also think that there are definite shared roots between this and Mardi Gras.
For some great costumes, though, check out the Mardi Gras Indians and the Zulu Club.Servitor Lucemhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07792291004791974556noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12171673.post-56283554384443611822009-12-31T09:12:36.567-05:002009-12-31T09:12:36.567-05:00Yes, this is definitely the Wren Boys writ large. ...Yes, this is definitely the Wren Boys writ large. The BBC did a documentary on Mumming, and they included our Philly parade, tying it directly to the old Irish and Scottish traditions. (Which, IMHO, probably stems from Celtic New Year traditions and just moved its date.)Anne Johnsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18083739996560380258noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12171673.post-5549393339786789652009-12-31T00:40:51.033-05:002009-12-31T00:40:51.033-05:00I think you should wear your Sacred Thunderbird co...I think you should wear your Sacred Thunderbird costume while sitting in your lounge chair.
