In Which I Do Something Worthy of "Countdown!"

Welcome to "The Gods Are Very Interested in the Antics of Anne Johnson!" I'm your host, Anne Johnson. That's the Anne Johnson who participated in the 18th annual Berkeley Springs Water Tasting Festival this past weekend. That's the Berkeley Springs Water Tasting Festival that just got mentioned on "Countdown with Keith!"

If you blinked you missed it, but the Los Angeles municipal water supply was among Keith's "bests" tonight, 2/25. Yes, Anne Johnson helped to establish L.A.'s tap water as top of the flock! Here I am, hard at work. O ye of little faith!

I am not worthy. But Berkeley Springs is. Be there, or be square. Best water on the planet. (Except for Bosnia. And L.A.)

PROUD MERLIN OF BERKELEY SPRINGS

I read the LA story today, surprising to say the least. But I live in God's country, maybe I should enter a sample of our water?

It is a well-known fact that NYC tap water is some of the best water around - for the simple fact that it has to be tested and treated so frequently to keep it drinkable! I think it's interesting to see that LA has joined company.

There was a funny scene in an obscure little movie with Minnie Driver and David Duchovny, wherein she plays a waitress who pours out the water in a bottle and fills it with tap water to get back at a snooty customer. Cute.

I have to say I have been in some places where the tap water is absolutely disgusting. The tap water in Boston TASTES fine, but I see the gunk it leaves on my fixtures. I don't know what it is and I don't want it in my body. I use a water filter.

I grew up in Staten Island, NY and I always loved the taste of our tap water ... in the suburban town in New Jersey where I've lived (on and off) since I was 16 I can barely tolerate it.

Then again I also hate most bottled water as they all taste chemically or metallic or just "not water".

I saw the AP story -- to think that I "know" a judge.

Now here is something else bloggable:
